Superman is well represented on the World Wide Web, but
as with all things, some sites are better than others. Here
I'll list the sites I've found particularly informative,
entertaining or otherwise useful:
|
Superman
Through The Ages
|
|
(www.supermanthrutheages.com)
|
|
A comprehensive overview of the life and times of
the Man of Steel. Lots of helpful history, terrific
orginal fiction and a gallery of fan-created art.
|
|
|
|
DC Comics
(www.dccomics.com)
|
|
Weekly listings of new comics, plus occasional Superman-related
features and a listing of available trade paperback
collections.
|
| |
|
The Adventures Continue
(http://www.jimnolt.com)
|
|
Jim Nolt's affectionate tribute to
the late George Reeves and that enduring television
classic, "The Adventures of Superman." Highlights
include a comic-style adaptation of the aborted Superman
film, "The Secret Planet," complete with
"soundtrack"!

Who
Drew Superman?
http://www.supermanartists.comics.org/superart/supermanart.html
|
|
Wondefully useful site for determining art credits on stories
printed in the days before credits were listed. Learn how
to differentiate Joe Shuster's numerous ghosts, and see
what a difference inkers made on Curt Swan's pencils.

The
Big Red "S": A Superman Site
http://www.greatkrypton.com/superman/micro.php
| The highlight of this site is its collection
of super-hero "micros," tiny GIFs resembling
"Bobble Heads" of tons of characters from
Superman's 60-year history. From Nightwing (pictured
at right) and Flamebird through Supergirl's endless
costume variations in the 70s and 80s, plus Lana Lang
as Insect Queen, Lois Lane in her "African-American"
guise and Jimmy Olsen's countless mutations, there's
virtually no one left out. And just for good measure,
there's the Bottle City of Kandor, Beppo the Super-Monkey
and all varieties of Kryptonite, to boot. Also handy
is a huge yet concise list of useful Superman links
on the Web. |

Superhero
Ads For Hostess Snacks
(http://www.seanbaby.com/hostess.htm)
|
|
A collection of '70s-era insanity from the
inside covers of DC and Marvel comics. Thor and the Gods
of Asgard versus Space-Hillbillies. Batman and Robin versus
the Mummy. Superman saves the Earth again through the powerful
goodness of Ho-Ho's, Twinkies and Fruit Pies.
